DBS Bait Salt

$13.99

Dead Bait Solutions Bait Salt locks in freshness and durability so your baits stay tough, bright, and ready for action. Just coat your baits evenly with the salt, let it work, and you’re set. The formula pulls moisture, firms the bait, and keeps them from washing out during a long troll. Your rigged baits will last longer in the spread and hold up when it counts.

Whether you’re prepping ballyhoo, mullet, or mackerel, this salt is designed to do the job. It doesn’t just preserve your bait — it enhances presentation so every strike has a better shot at a hook-up. Anglers who demand tournament-grade performance know the difference a proper cure makes.

Don’t waste time with soft, washed-out baits. With Dead Bait Solutions Bait Salt, you’ll make the most out of every pack of bait, reduce waste, and put more fish on the deck.

FEATURES:

  • Proven formula to preserve baits and maximize durability on the troll

  • Enhances color, texture, and presentation

  • Convenient container with resealable lid for easy use on the water or dock

How to apply bait salt

Step 1 – Prep Your Bait

  • Start with fresh or thawed baits (ballyhoo, mullet, mackerel, etc.).

  • Remove excess blood, slime, or scales for best results.

Step 2 – Coat with Bait Salt

  • Lay baits in a tray, bucket, or bag.

  • Generously sprinkle bait salt over and inside the gills/cavity.

  • Make sure each bait is fully coated.

Step 3 – Layer & Repeat

  • If curing multiple baits, add a layer of salt, then baits, then salt again.

  • Continue layering until all baits are packed.

Step 4 – Let Cure

  • Refrigerate or keep on ice for 6–12 hours (overnight is best).

  • The salt will toughen, brighten, and preserve the baits.

Step 5 – shake off & Rig

  • Before rigging, lightly shake off excess salt.

  • Your baits are now ready to troll — durable, shiny, and fish-ready.
